Several members went on this 1
and 2 cylinder tour in Jefferson,
Texas, from September 22nd through the 25th.
Lee Brown and passengers John
Alkire and Nancy Smith joined
Tom and Evelyn Timmins, who
were the leaders of this tour
sponsored by the North Texas
Region HCCA.
We visited museums, old houses
and antique shops, followed by
a drive around Lake o' the Pines
on Friday.
On Saturday we circled Caddo
Lake and had lunch in Karnack,
Lady Bird's birthplace. (She
went to school in Jefferson.)
Thirty-six people in 17 cars from
1909 through 1915 drove the
tour of about 60 miles per day.
We saw the remains of the wild
fires on both days.

Happily for
all of us, not one car needed to
use the Vulture Wagon! Even
better was the fact that we had
a respite from the heat and humidity
here in south Texas.
